The Skoda Yeti Crossover Class Car

used item

The Skoda Yeti Crossover class car has a high driving position and great visibility all around. The Yeti handles like a Golf-sized family hatchback. There is very little body roll, and it has lots of grip. It rides well and has an electric power steering that is both direct and artificially-feeling. But its high-tech interior and optional Adaptive Cruise Control add a premium feel that makes it an unmistakable head-turner.

1.2 TSI

Skoda Yeti's 1.2 TSI engine delivers decent performance in town and on motorways. The Yeti's engine, despite not offering instant acceleration is very pleasant to drive and compliments its well-designed package. Its ground clearance is a major feature, and the car offers a comfortable but firm ride.

The Skoda Yeti is a mid-sized crossover with strong off-road abilities. It starts at PS16,600 for the base S trim and costs around PS20,800 for the 1.2 TSI. In terms of price, the entry-level petrol version is similar to the Nissan Juke, and costs around PS16,600. Its 1.2-litre petrol motor is paired with a sixspeed automatic transmission with paddleshifters. The Skoda Yeti costs less than the Juke and Qashqai. This is especially true for the 1.3L petrol model.

1.6 TDI

Skoda Yeti's small SUV is powered by a diesel engine. The Skoda Stilli was launched in 2011 and has been on sale for over 11 years. The Yeti has been available in three versions: one petrol, and one diesel. Both versions meet EURO 5 emission standards. This version is great for those looking for a powerful vehicle but not for those concerned about fuel consumption.

Skoda Yeti 1.6 TSI Greentech Projection was manufactured from January 2014 through June 2015. It weighs 1410kg, has a top speed of 176 km/h, and is lightweight. It features a 55-litre fuel reservoir and a manual five-speed transmission. It can carry a maximum weight of 545 kg.

2.0 TDI

The 2.0 TDI, the entry-level diesel Skoda Yeti, is available. It features front-wheel drive and Haldex four wheel drive. This version will likely account for most Yeti sales in the UK. It features a 6- or 5-speed manual gearbox, and has an unusual appearance. The Superb also features a functional seating layout, and switchgear.

While the original Yeti was unattractive, the updated model looks a lot more modern. The updated model has a new face that omits the inset foglights so prevalent in other VW Group cars. Skoda's styling choices can make or break an automobile, but it is also up against some highly-attractive rivals. Which is better? Let's take a closer look.

FAQ

Is it important which college I go?

It's not true. There is no difference between colleges in terms of how to get into the automobile industry. You will find that some schools offer better programs than others. If you are looking for something more specific, consider going to another school.

Do I need to have a degree to work as an automotive mechanic? Can I do part-time studies?

Although it's not mandatory, a degree can help. Most employers prefer candidates who have studied for a full degree rather than those who haven't. It shows you are dedicated and have worked hard to achieve your goals.

However, it doesn't mean you can't still work while studying. Many universities permit students to take courses during the summer holidays, and then finish their studies in the fall. Some universities allow students to take part-time classes throughout the year.

How can I prepare to become a mechanic apprentice?

It is vital to be able to comprehend what you are doing. You should be familiar with the mechanics of cars, and how they work. This will make it easy to find the right place to start your first day in the garage.

It is also important to be able to fix small problems like broken lights or tires.

This should help you learn how to diagnose issues and repair them yourself.

For the purpose of putting them back together again, you'll need to be able to identify how each piece fits together.

Finally, you should be able use tools safely.

All these aspects will help you become a competent technician.

What is the job description for a mechanic in a car?

There are three major areas of employment that car mechanics work in:

  • Automotive repair shops
  • Dealerships
  • Independent garages

Automotive repair shops

Most people think of this as the first step to becoming a mechanic. In fact, it's probably the easiest way to get started. You can either work in a shop run by someone else, or start your business.

If you decide to work at a shop, you'll need to apply to join a union. After you are accepted to the union, you will receive training from it.

Once the training is completed, you can start working.

Registering with the government is required if you intend to open a garage. You'll need to meet certain standards after you register.

You will receive a license to run your garage once you have registered.

Your license will permit you to sell spares parts and perform minor repairs. It will not allow you to repair major engine problems.

Apart from selling spare parts, customers will also expect you to provide guidance and advice.

Dealership jobs

Most dealerships only employ mechanics who have a specific skill set. They might specialize in one area, such as brakes and tires.

However, dealerships may also employ general mechanics who are able to handle all aspects related to car repairs.

These positions may require applicants to complete specific training before being allowed on the job. Employers are able to choose which candidates will best suit their position.

Some dealerships will even hire graduates right out of university. These graduates are familiar with the fundamentals of mechanical engineering so they can easily learn about cars.

Independent garages

Independent garages do not belong to any dealership. Instead, independent garages tend to concentrate on providing high-quality services.

Because independent garages aren't affiliated with any company, they can afford to pay higher wages. These jobs generally pay better than those at dealerships.

However, independent garages may not be better places to work. Many owners prefer to control their businesses themselves, rather than delegating it to employees.

You might find yourself working long hours but having no control over what happens in the day.

It is also possible to expect lower wages than you would if working at a dealer.

The good news is that you can easily switch between different kinds of jobs. If you want to work at a dealership, then you simply need to ask your current employer if he would consider hiring you as a mechanic instead.

Alternatively, if you'd like to work at an independent garage, then you could try applying directly to the owner of the garage.

Unfortunately, finding a new job can be difficult. You can earn more depending on many other factors.

You might also consider the vehicle type you repair, and whether extra labor is charged.
